Me too.
If you wanna do horror, go for it, if not, that’s ok. Still your art does have good potential to make some scary scenes look great, and could loosen you up to a new genre. But that’s ok if you don’t want to, just keep being you pal.
I did do horror previous years, especially for Inktober/Apoctober. But my usual horror stuff tends to be associated with a high effort series and less with comfort drawing.
“I’ve seen this kind of thing happen before. Still, I don’t know what causes this. Stay in touch kid, I’ll look into it”
The cheez kids archive is probably on one of the best nostalgia horror projects I’ve seen in recent memory. It’s good to know that there are people who like the series enough to make fanart!
Edit: oh ok. Never mind then.
I actually just heard about it today.
Pretty interesting, I’d like to see where this I going man! Plz go on.
Edit: Goddamn that’s edgy but it’s comprehensible
Oh goodness, where to begin with him lol!
Hayate is a very bizarre character in both writing and illustrating. Due to his unmedicated schizophrenia, he struggles a lot living in the real world and just living as a person. Thank God before it started getting REALLY bad, he met his best friend and caregiver (completely different character so I won't mention him until I post about him).
Hayate got diagnosed with schizophrenia when he was about 17 (he's currently 23) and started off alright until he started to need significantly stronger medications. And due to this rapid increase of untreated psychotic episodes, it led to a rapid decline in his mental health. He'd end up drinking because he found it made him less paranoid and jumpy but then that started going downhill as well, making him reliant on alcoholism instead of proper medication. His friend would never properly know what to do because he's not professionally a caregiver and just makes sure that Hayate doesn't freaking k!ll himself and helps him clean whenever he lacks the energy or motivation to do so. His friend also provides Hayate with alcohol because he doesn't know what else to do to help him because Hayate refuses to update his prescription.
As time goes on, it gets worse for Hayate, becoming more and more paranoid of everyone around him, believing that people were out to get him, that clocks were actually hidden cameras, that his friend was suddenly a decoy to spy on him. It leaves him in total isolation until his friend knocks down his door and rushes Hayate to the ER after he was convinced that he was possessed, breaking a mirror and cutting his hand open.
It's a lot and I probably started rambling but I hope to do more things with this character. He's existed since 2019(?) and I'm finally giving him some love. (Ironic because his character is actually pretty depressing. But I love disturbing topics so who cares, it's my character :) )
Hope you enjoyed the read <3
Edit: Oh yeah, it's a very edgy story lol. But sometimes things need that little grossness yk?
Hey Art is a thing that takes but for what it’s worth it looks good and the style fits. Good job!
Thanks! I'm learning. I'm still uploading my pieces on this site, some of the later ones turned out better!
